Crafters of Light currently IS recruiting!
Description
We are a very laid-back family guild that also raids. We have cleared TOC 10, are currently working on Ulduar 10 , 10/14 down, and are continuing to work on ToC 25, thought currently we are having to run with a lot of pugs. We also spend unhealthy amounts of time running heroics, leveling alts, collecting pets, fishing, whatever.
Raiding Times
Ony10/Uld10 - Wednesdays at 7:25
ToC10- Fridays at 8:15
ToC25 - Varies, Weekend, Saturday or Sunday, starts midday/early evening
Looking for
We are generally willing to take any dps or healing spec. However, ideally we would like -
Healers: Paladin and Priest healers (disc or holy)
DPS: Warlocks (any spec), Ele Shaman, Boomkin, Hunter (any spec), Priests, and Rogues (any spec).
Being well geared is a plus, but not necessary. We still run plenty of 5mans, and if you spend some time running those and farming emblems you will be geared well enough for Uld, or even ToC, before too long.
How to Join
Feel free to message anyone in the guild to ask them how they like it, and try to run a few heroics just so we can get to know each other. You can also talk to me on Hmmkay or Stormm, Frem, or to our guild leader Velaide. We do not have a formal application process.
There is a one month period after you have joined where you will not have bank access, although there are no special limits on getting drops when we raid.
Loot Rules
We use a tiered system. You start a raid at tier 1. When an item drops that you want for your main spec, you roll. If you win, it's yours, and you move up to the next tier. Lower tier people get first dibs, so on future drops, you won't be eligible until everyone else who wants the item is at the same tier as you or higher. If no one wants, then it moves to offspec rolls. Offspec rolls are not affected by your tier, and do not change your tier.
Your "main spec" is the spec that you chose to raid as. If you are asked by the raid leader to change spec, then you must declare ahead of time what your "main spec" for the purposes of loot is, and you are able to chose either spec.
However, you should always be courteous. For example, if someone is really only raiding for a drop off of one specific boss, while you can use items from several other bosses, it would be a good idea to let them have it, even if you are on the same tier!
All loot assignments and rules are, in the end, up to the raid leader. Any variation from the above will be established ahead of time.
Lower Levels?
While the guild is mostly levels 80s, we do plenty of leveling alts, and have some non 80s. You are welcome to join, but we generally don't have scheduled low level instances. However, many members are happy to help!

If any guildies have corrections, additions, or anything, or would like to be added to the list of people who can be contacted, post it here.

Update:
11/03/09 - Added recruitment post to http://worldofraids.com , but it must be refreshed every 7 days in order to keep it posted. If any other recruiters want to have access to this, create and account there, pm me, and I can add you to the administrators list. I'll handle the refreshing.
11/03/09 - Worldofraids recruitment website is craptastic. Nothing works. It didn't take my "desired classes" selection where I told it we wanted ALL classes. Instead it thinks we want none. Now, it logs me out whenever I navigate from one page to another so it may be impossible to edit. I finally managed to edit it and it's now giving me an error that the guild is already "claimed". I might try again when I get home, though I doubt all this crap is caused by my computer since I've tested it on two different ones. If this doesn't improve dramatically I'll just be ignoring this site from now on. Pity because the guild search function isn't too bad.
11/03/09 - Finally figured out http://worldofraids.com After signing up, first login to the forums and do "Remember me". THEN go over to the recruitment page and you can manage your guild(s) without technical difficulties.

NO MOAR SHAMANS. THEY BE ALL UP IN MY LOOTZ (WUT). Seriously though we don't really need an enhancement shaman, the improved strength of earth totem is a pretty minor upgrade. An elemental shaman is good though, for totem of wrath and for high burst. Mostly I notice that we are seriously seriously hurting for ranged dps, more than for any specific classes. Buff wise we have good diversity, but we have wayyyyy too much melee. Case in point, the three healers who have posted on this thread all have melee DPS offspecs, and off the top of my head we are also the three healers who are geared enough on our offspecs to switch to DPS if needed for any instance. _________________ BOOM went the coastal monkey factory. |

| We also need healers of any flavor, especially west coast. There is also a west coast 10 man raid (currently defunct) at 9:30pm server on week days. If we could get another tank and another healer that can run in that time slot we will pick it up again. |

we have a 6th healer now, Hmmkay go look at lin's toc 10 signups - we have 6 solid non-flaky healers and in a good split:
Linarra/Hmmkay
Kintori/Frem
Vitali/Osh
don't need no stinkin priests, although we also have KKnotami and now alurcix
*edit*
Here is who i have raided wth, or seen raiding, recently:
1 Hunter (mia)
1 Boomkin (Anna)
6 healers (see list above, five of whom are melee DPS offspec -- 7 counting KK)
4 tanks (Doch, cinn, karleigh, yardley)
2 mages (Grubby, Jroc)
1 warlock (gidgie)
1 SP (zet)
1 Rogue (ninjagaara)
2 DKs (Skydude, Raxxorob)
A feral druid gives an additional buff, but an enh shaman does not (slightly upgraded windfury totem and strength of earth totem which don't stack with the DK buffs that are the same). Another lock would give us a huge DPS boost (they always top the charts in my pugs). An elemental shaman gives an amazing buff in Totem of Wrath which increases chance to crit against targets by 3% (Stacks with boomkin 3% crit) as well as a big fat chunk of spellpower. We should really have a second or third priest in case our single regularly raiding priest is unavailable -- priest buffs are REALLY great.
Otherwise we actually have a really solidly diverse group of raiders, lots of buffs and utiliy of all kinds as well as some high dps (lock/rogue/DKs). So I wouldnt' say there is anything we desperately NEED, but there are a few things we need to think about for backup purposes -- if Zet, Mia, and anna can't raid one day we have no 3% crit, no tranq shot (or awesome cast-less ranged dps), no 3% SPELL HIT (really important!) and we lose priest buffs and the SP's incindental heals. _________________ BOOM went the coastal monkey factory. |

| Any of those would be good for an offspec Oom. I don't think we have a bear tank right now but dps is always needed as well. |

naranda has a bear spec, we don't have a cat atm though. Of course naranda going bear means we lose osh healing.
Moo, you should do whatever spec you think will be fun. I think that cat or resto isn't a bad idea, we are a little low on high-dps-output raiders like mages and rogues and cats can do nearly as good but resto gives us flexibility in swapping out healers who have alts that are high dps. Either way we are pretty flexible since most of the core raiders have at least 1 geared alt. _________________ BOOM went the coastal monkey factory. |
